Pre-Visit Preparation The following information is to help our visitors find the museum experience to be meaningful and edifying: 1. It is recommended that you become familiar with the Teacher's Manual so that the experience will have the full impact. Although it is written for teachers, all are encouraged to review it for preparation to the Museum. Please view Pre-Activities and Post-Activities for your child in the Teacher's Manual so you can have a thoughtful and thought-provoking discussion. 2. We recommend reading Elie Weisel's Night or I Never Saw Another Butterfly, Maurice Sendak's Brundibar, The Diary of Anne Frank, and Carol Matas' Daniel's Story. These books are available in the Museum Shop. 3. For the complete experience, you have an option to crawl through a tunnel to a "hiding place". It is strongly recommended that women and girls wear slacks. 4. This tour is geared towards middle and high school ages and adults. It is not advisable for children under the age of 9. The Museum understands that there are variances in maturity in children. Therefore, we recommend that a parent walk through the Museum prior to bringing a child between the ages of 9 and 11 to judge the appropriateness and level of understanding for that child. 5. For your protection, the Museum wants all guests to understand that exhibits and artifacts are Security Protected. If an exhibit or artifact is touched in some manner, an alarm will sound and Security is called to that area. The Museum expects guests not to touch any exhibit or artifact.
